Appleyard Lees takes part in Electronics Yorkshire's "Meet the Universities" event.

Appleyard Lees are support members of Electronics Yorkshire, an organisation set up to support and assist the growth of the electronics sector throughout the Yorkshire and Humber region.

We recently attended a seminar entitled "Meet the Universities" jointly run by Electronics Yorkshire and the Electronics Knowledge Transfer Network.

The seminar explored the range of resources available to electronics businesses from the Yorkshire and Humber’s universities, who were well represented.

The basic message was that local businesses can access world class support services from the universities, all via a "one-stop shop" in each University. Some examples of the support services offered are:

• the licensing of university IP rights
• the solving of business and technical problems
• rapid prototyping and the provision of high-quality students for project work
